On October 30, USAID BIJAK and @america hosted an online blog writing clinic as part of the Youth Love National Parks campaign (AMCTN). The 12-month AMTCN campaign is led by a coalition of 18 CSO who are working together to inspire Indonesian youth to love and support the country’s national parks. The two-hour writing clinic featured presentations by well-known bloggers such as award-winning writer, traveler, and social media influencer Windy Ariestanty; former Editor-in-Chief of Divemag Indonesia Riyanni Djangkaru; and writer, and environmental activist Olivia Dianina Purba. Presenters shared their tips and tricks for blogging about the national parks and conservation in Indonesia. During the Q&A session, they fielded questions about travel writing during a pandemic, the importance of adding good pictures to blog posts, and how to attract young readers. Participants were encouraged to test their new skills by entering the AMCTN’s nature blog writing competition, which is accepting submissions until November 13, 2020. The webinar was attended by 76 participants and 1,446 viewers have watched the recorded version of the webinar on Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram.
